Ari Fishkin
Building Brilliant Minds With Miss Marissa LLC is pleased to announce a new part of our team!
“Hi everyone! I'm Ari Fishkin, a recent graduate from Purdue University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I am currently taking gap years to apply to medical school.
I began tutoring at my local Sunday school, where I helped tutor people in math up to Algebra I and Geometry. I continued tutoring in college, helping tutor Chemical Engineering subjects and teaching engineering concepts to middle school students. In college, I joined the Chemical Engineering Society OXE, where I served as a tutoring chair.
The most significant contribution to my ability to graduate from high school and college in three years was breaking problems down and devising an approach to solving them. Both in and outside the classroom, many issues require connecting seemingly disconnected concepts and fostering creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to solve them. I believe that taking steps to play around with the information of a problem or just trying to see what first comes to mind when seeing a problem can often be a fruitful way of working towards a solution.
In addition, I believe in the power of "being silly," as making learning fun and enjoyable is often key to fostering mastery of concepts and being able to use them effectively. However, the ultimate test of many learners is in the perseverance they must show while solving seemingly unsolvable problems, and I have learned many tips and tricks to help me get through those difficult moments. Please join me in navigating the bumps in the road to gain knowledge mastery and the ability to use the knowledge to solve the problems ahead.”
